Bhagavad Gita is a spiritual book of Hindu followers. The meaning of gita is songs of lord. The book is a separate section from Mahabharata.

Dharma yuddham or righteous war is started between pandava and arjuna. Arjunan was refused to fight against his relatives, friends and gurus in kurukshetra war. The lord Krishnan who is charioteer to arjunan said, don’t confuse while fighting for justice. And he talked about spiritual and philosophical ideas too. The conversation between lord krishnan and arjunan is called Gita.

There are seven hundred slogans and eighteen chapters in gita. Six hundred and twenty slogans are spoken by lord krishna, fifty seven slogans are arjunan’s, sixty seven slogans are spoken by sanjayan and dhiritarashtra’s one slogan.
